June July December In this third incarnation of my web site, I figured that I'd try to keep track of news and events in my life. I have a really bad memory, so this might help. Plus, this is a place where I can let you know about improvements to the site itself. Certain people won't agree that the changes that I make are improvements, but, um, so what? Early this month, I left for Paris and the Fifth International World Wide Web conference. I was in France for just over a week, and then in Cambridge, England, for another week. Oit was fun! I'll be making a webbed travelogue soon. Honest. Two days after I returned to the states, I graduated. Yay! Of course I have a few, um, details to clear up before I actually get the diploma, but I feel finished. Sort of. Sheesh, we're only a week into this sweetest of months, and I've already got lots to relay.. I've been doing quite a few interviews for jobs lately, and it's looking great so far. The hard part will be choosing which job to take. I think I've decided already, but I'll wait and see if these neat folks actually give me a formal invite before I announce it to zee vurld. I've added links to my friend Jon's dandy new web site, and also his Amputees-On-Call page. Jon is my oldest and bestest pal in the area, and he's a great cook too. We met when he came to visit me in the hospital after I lost my leg, a little over three years ago. He was pretty cocky back then, but time, his lovely wife Laurie, a dark-haired imp named Kurt, and his new baby girl (Katie) have conspired to mellow him over time. Well, regarding those job interviews: Jobs are dumb ANYWAY. Ahem. Okay, so maybe not, but I've declined two of the jobs that were offered to me (they paid beans), and I've only had the two offers so far. Frankly, while I am looking forward to working, I'm enjoying re-learning what summer vacation is all about. My garden is doing beautifully: gorgeous big tomatoes already, still green, and I just noticed some fruit on my eggplant plants. Yay! So, about changes to these pages.. I edited my mom's page to indicate that my brother Svend-Erik is no longer available. Haven't met the girl, but he seems awfully excited.. Also, I've added a client-side image map to my front page and also a text version of the front page for all my cool friends who use Lynx and other text-only browsers. Lemme know if there's any problem. Also, I've added various photos and drawings, which you can find links to on my 'personal' page. Oh, and I bet you're dying to know how I eat pho, right? I put up a mostly hidden link to a monthly calander, so I can maybe remember to keep appointments. I can't imagine why you'd be interested, unless you're obsessed with me, and if you're obsessed with me, then my schedule is the least of your worries. I stopped smoking. Follow the adventure. |
