All lighting in this area is wired to and controlled from the I/O box B6 in the galley counter between the galley and the interior nav. station.
The galley has
1. area lighting
This is provided by a 30 watt fluorescent light fixture ( A2 ) in the corner of the engine room wall and the ceiling. The light is switched from either a switch integral with the fixture or a switch on the forward wall of the engine room.
2. Task lighting
· For work on the counter top there is a row of white LEDs under the wall cabinets. The switch for these is either under the wall cabinets or from a switch on the forward wall of the engine room.
· For dish washing there is the light from the fluorescent fixture ( A1 ) in the saloon ceiling. ( NOTE. This assumes that the sinks have been moved onto the midships counter.
3. Safety lighting
Around the bases of the furniture and at the base of the engine room wall ( ?? ). Red LEDs are used here. These are switched either by the computer or from a switch on the forward wall of the engine room.
False wall on forward engine room wall.
There are a number of items that we would like to put on the forward facing wall of the engine room, on the port side of the cabin steps.
1. Hydraulic valves that may be convenient to position there
2. Water system valves
3. Fuel system valves.
4. Electrical outlets
a. Bilge pump 240 watt 24 vdc outlet.
b. Switches for the galley/saloon area
c. Small screen display for system information
5. Manual shut off valve to diesel day tank.
6. House Battery bank controls
In order to accommodate these requirements it may be convenient to build a false wall in front of the aluminum engine room wall behind which to hide the connections to these devices. The figure below shows the port forward corner of the engine room and the cabin steps.

Figure 1
The schematic shows a space of ~100 mm behind the false wall. This can be altered depending on the size of the objects tat we want to hide behind it ( e.g. valves ).
The electrical connections for devices in this space will come form the B6 connection box in the galley counter.
